Press Box
1. Check the laptop’s network
The top left corner must say Ethernet or GameStrat WiFi and IP Valid for the streaming device to connect. If it doesn’t, ensure your press box setup is correctly. (link to premium setup or indicator)
2. Check the GameStrat Bridge connection
Count the number of lights located on the side of your GameStrat Bridge Antenna:
- 6 blue lights — the Bridge is connected to the GameStrat Station. Continue to Step 3.
- 2 lights — the Bridge is powered but not connected to the GameStrat Station. Check the alignment between the two antennas and reseat the grey cable in the GameStrat Router.
- 0 lights — the Bridge has no power. Check the Grey Ethernet cable on both ends and confirm the GameStrat Router is powered on.
3. Restart your GameStrat laptop App
Sometimes, a quick app restart will immediately connect the GameStrat Streaming Device.
- Right click or two-finger click anywhere on the open GameStrat application screen and select “Restart App”
- Go through your typical setup, and wait for the GameStrat Streaming Device to connect
If it does not connect, move to the end zone or call someone in the end zone for further troubleshooting.
End Zone
Note: When troubleshooting in the end zone, it’s best to have a team member in the press box to confirm when the connection is established.
1. Check the GameStart Station
Count the number of lights located on the side of your GameStrat Station Antenna:
- 7 blue lights — the Station is connected to both the Bridge and the Streaming Device. Continue to Step 3.
- 6 lights — the Station is connected to the Bridge but not the Streaming Device. Check the Black Ethernet cable between the Station and the Streaming Device.
- Fewer than 6 lights — the Station is not connected to the Bridge. Check alignment between the two antennas and confirm the Station is powered on, and its Ethernet cords are secure on both ends
2. Check the GameStrat Streaming Device Ethernet connection
Check the Ethernet icon (3 squares) on the GameStrat Streaming Device:
- Solid light - the Streaming Device is connected to the GameStrat Station. The network is connected.
- Flashing or off - the Streaming Device is not receiving a network connection. Unplug and firmly reseat both ends of the black Ethernet cable between the GameStrat Station Power Box and the Streaming Device, then wait 10–15 seconds for the lights to refresh.
3. Check the Bridge and Station Alignment
If there are 2 lights on the GameStrat Bridge and Station, the antennas may not have a clear line of sight to each other.
- Verify there are no obstructions between the GameStrat Bridge and GameStrat Station — windows, equipment, vehicles, and people can all interrupt the signal.
- Make small adjustments to both antennas and recheck the lights after each adjustment. Even a few degrees of misalignment can significantly affect the connection.
- Both antennas should point directly at each other — the GameStrat Bridge faces the end zone, the GameStrat Station faces the press box.
4. Power cycle the GameStrat Station
If alignment is correct, and the connection has not been established, power cycle the GameStrat Station:
- Unplug the GameStrat Station power box from power.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Plug the power box back in and allow 1–2 minutes for the GameStrat Station to fully restart.
- Check the light count again
