Reviewing Film at Halftime: iPads in the Locker Room

At halftime, you don't need a TV or a network in the locker room. Your recorded plays are already saved on the viewing iPads, so you can grab them, walk in, and review — then reconnect when you get back to the sideline.

At the start of the game

  • Put each viewing iPad in Guided Access when you start the game so it stays awake the whole way through. That keeps plays downloading in the background, so every clip is ready on the iPad by the time you head to the locker room at halftime.

At halftime

Coming back for the second half

When you return to the sideline, confirm each iPad reconnects before the second-half kickoff:

  1. Confirm a live game is still running on the operating laptop. iPads need a live game to connect to.
  2. Check the network. On each iPad, open Settings → WiFi and confirm it's on the correct GameStrat network for its location — sideline iPads on the Sideline WiFi, press box iPads on the Press Box WiFi.
  3. Reopen the GameStrat app and look for the checkmark in the top-right corner. That confirms the iPad is connected to the laptop again.

If an iPad doesn't reconnect, work through Why are my sideline iPads not connecting? or Why are my press box iPads not connecting? for its location.
