How to connect GameStrat to your Hudl Focus Camera? 

GameStrat is fully compatible with Hudl Focus. Connecting is as simple as connecting an Ethernet cable. 

How it works

Hudl Focus connects to GameStrat over your GameStrat network rather than through an HDMI/Capture Device chain like a standard camera:

  1. Run an Ethernet cable from the accessory port on the back of the Hudl Focus camera into the GameStrat network, following the steps in the videos below. 
  2. GameStrat will automatically detect the camera.
  3. In the GameStrat software, select Hudl Focus as your camera feed.
  4. Ensure the Hudl Focus camera has a scheduled game recording.

The connection steps differ slightly by hardware generation — watch the tutorial for yours:

Troubleshooting

Because Hudl Focus connects over the network instead of HDMI, the standard "No Signal" camera troubleshooting steps do not apply. If your Focus feed isn't appearing in GameStrat:

  1. Reseat both ends of the Ethernet cable between the Focus accessory port and the GameStrat network.
  2. Confirm the rest of your GameStrat network is connected (laptop shows Ethernet / IP Valid).
