Connecting an iPad to a TV or Monitor

You can put your film on any TV or monitor with an HDMI input using an iPad HDMI adapter.

  1. Connect an HDMI adapter to your iPad — USB-C or Lightning, depending on your model. An Apple adapter is the most reliable, but any working HDMI adapter is fine.
  2. Run an HDMI cable from the adapter to the TV or monitor, then switch the screen to that HDMI input.
  3. Open your film on the iPad — it mirrors to the screen automatically.

Tip: if your adapter has a charging port, plug the iPad into power. Mirroring drains the battery, and a low battery is the most common cause of freezing.
